John P. Gillespie

Pitcher.

Gillespie hit 4 home runs for the Bridgeport Americans on

August 9, 1923.  This is the all-time record among all major and minor league teams.

John pitched for the Cincinnati Redlegs in 1922.

Frank Grube

Frank caught for Bridgeport in 1929, prior to entering the majors.

Fred Goldsmith

Pitcher.

Goldy led the 1875 TBs to the unrivaled semi-pro champions of Connecticut.  He tdid the same for the London (ONT) Tecumsehs the following year, and the Chicago White Stox in 1880, 1881, and 1882.

Ray Grimes

Infield.

Shown with Cubs in early 1920s.

Grimes holds the all-time major league record for consecutive games with an RBI, 17.

Ray played first base for Bridgeport from 1917 to 1920.  He also managed the local club in 1918 and 1919.  Grimes played second base in the majors from 1920-24 and 1926.
